Our aim is to give you a straightforward source of information for everything to do with our village: facts and figures, directory information about every business and organisation in the village, together with our history. We also try have a complete up to date diary of events. Let us know if we don't have your information, or if it is wrong, using the contact us form. We also want to encourage the exchange of ideas and information between villagers and others. We hope you like our pictures too! The local press also have a site, Nafferton Today with news and events and reports (and often pictures).

Yorkshire in Bloom judging
Nafferton Village News Judging day for Nafferton is on Monday July 21st. The judges will arrive at the top of the village at 11.30 am and will tour the village. They will finish up at our school where they will judge the school gardens.

Another village football team
Nafferton Village News Next football season will see the start of yet another village team. Dean Petch, who lived in the village for over 20 years, looks to build on the success of the current Nafferton Rec 1st team. Dean is asking for help with sponsorship to get the team started and hopes some of the local business in the village may be able to help. If you can help in any way with sponsorship or would like to express an interest in joining the new team please contact him on 07860968532 after 5pm.

All Saints' Church. Temporary changes to services
Nafferton Village News Our Priest-in-Charge, the Revd Jean Artley, is presently off duty due to illness. As far as possible services will be at the usual times but the form of the service may vary from the ones listed in the Parish Magazine and on the Church's web entry.

Bags2school
Nafferton Village News Nafferton Primary School once again call on the generosity of the village to help raise funds through a scheme which, in the past, has realised £800pa.. Two collections are planned for 2008 : the first on 28 April, the second on 13 October.

Filled bags to be delivered to school before 3pm on these dates or, alternatively, left outside doors/gates by 9am for collection by the school team.

Nafferton in Bloom summer competitions.
Nafferton Village News The Summer Village Competitions 2008 will take place in July. They comprise 3 categories:
• for the best floral display at a private house without side or front garden in the village, the Feoffees’ Trophy is awarded, judged by an NIB member and a parish councillor;
• for the best floral display on business premises, the Londis Shield, donated by Kevin Rafferty, and judges as above;
NB Formal application is not required. All qualifying houses/premises are included in the judging.

New regulations applying to All Saints' churchyard memorials
Nafferton Village News The Diocese of York will no longer allow any faculties (permissions) for memorials for cremated remains to be anything other than a flat stone. No upright stones will be permitted.

Nafferton Village News Nafferton was judged by judges from Yorkshire in Bloom on Wednesday 9th April, 11.30-1.30. The NIB group thanks everyone for their help in making our village beautiful and tidy.
